Features

The following videos show some of the key features of Wildwood Express.

MIDI Files

This video shows you how to open and play a MIDI file:

Strums

This video shows you how to create simple strums:

Looping in Note View

This video shows you how to use the pattern generator to create drum grooves and fills and then overdub them with notes:

Looping in Step View

This video shows you how to create songs using the Step View. In Step View, all notes have the same duration and you don't have to press record because notes you enter are automatically recorded in the next step. You can use the rotary controller to skip steps (i.e. add rests) to create rhythms:

Arpeggios

This video shows you how to use the pattern generator with a chord type to create arpeggios:

Copying and Pasting

This video shows you how to copy and paste notes. You can also cut, delete (including time) and erase (not including time). Use channel mute and solo if necessary to control which notes are selected across multiple channels:

Copying and Pasting Between Files

This video shows you how to copy and paste notes into a new MIDI file:

Removing Time

This video shows you how to use the add/remove time function to remove time between notes:

Channels

Express features 16 channels and 128 instruments. At any point in time, one instrument is assigned to one channel. You can change the assignment using the channel menu.

Default instrument assignments are stored in a profile in flash memory. There are seven default profiles that you can modify, or you can create virtually any number of new profiles.

This video shows the default channel instrument assignments for the "Rock" profile.
